As Official Overlay Supporter and Principal Designer and Principal Contractor for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, we navigated the complexities of a multi-venue, multi-sport event, project managing the design, planning, installation and removal of temporary infrastructure, services and products, to transform existing and new venues into event-ready spaces.
In 2012, the GL events Consortium designed, manufactured and installed temporary structures across 78 venues at both the Olympics and Paralympics Games in London, and 130,000 temporary seats at 13 Olympic venues and stadia.
Internationally, GL events has been appointed as Overlay Provider for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This builds on our work for FIFA World Cup, the UEFA European Championships the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and the 2016 Olympic Games.

Our portfolio is wide-ranging and suitable for both front and back of house facilities. From single deck, double deck and even triple deck structures, through to our Giant outdoor event structures suitable for the largest of events, we can provide options for for pop up shops and bars, catering or bathroom facilities, hospitality and media - and everything in between.
Olympic standard events need Olympic standard seating - and that's what we will deliver.
With row depths of 800mm, and seat width of 50mm, our grandstand seating is comfortable, while the clear accessways of 570mm facilitates the safe and speedy flow of people to move along a row, or when exiting the stand.
Our row rises of either 166mm or 333mm provide good lines of sight, from any position, while the closed risers within our grandstands means there's no gaps in the flooring for phones or other personal items to fall through.
Our temporary stadium seating options are all fully flexible so can work on any site, including indoor arenas and can include built-in toilet facilities or retail outlets if required.
