Committed to sustainable events

As sustainability goals across events take shape, and sustainable event management is a key focus for event organisers, GL events is committed to supporting our clients and partners in minimising the environmental impact of our delivery at events.

As a business, we are also committed to reducing our own impact on the environment, supporting the local communities in which we live and work and caring for the physical and mental health of our workforce.

Improving sustainable event delivery

As a Group, GL events is committed to minimising the impact of its business operations around the world and reducing the emissions generated by its depots and projects here in the UK.

Year on year, we strive to further reduce our carbon footprint and look for additional ways to operate more effectively, efficiently and sustainably. We are actively working with partners, and industry bodies to understand best practice and encourage its adoption within the UK events industry.

Today we are supporting our clients in the development and implementation of their own sustainability roadmaps for the events on which we collaborate, through reporting of event specific data, and by identifying ways in which we can help to reduce the footprint of our own infrastructure - plotting a route to a greener event.

We are harnessing technology to provide simple, clear and usable data for our clients and stakeholders, leading to improvements in carbon reduction year on year.

Supporting legacy in communities

GL events firmly believes that events are connected to the communities in which they take place, and that major events should create opportunities for sustainable growth, enriching the areas they touch. We actively engage with, and invest in, local communities to cultivate a legacy for the projects we're involved in, and to leave a positive impact that lasts long after the event itself.

We have also embraced employee volunteering opportunities, by supporting the work of local charities outside of the office and also through the provision of volunteer "Expert Hours" in which employees can provide support in their chosen expert field. By doing so, we are able to help out the communities where we work, and enrich the working lives of our teams, through the opportunity to give something back.
