Project Manager

The Site Manager is responsible for the management of site operations, ensuring the successful and timely delivery of equipment and project requirements in line with company contracts.
This includes enforcing and following safe working practices as per the company’s policies, risk assessments, and method statements.
Additionally, the Site Manager will be responsible for inducting personnel and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The role also involves practical site and yard work as required, supporting the team to ensure smooth project execution.
Hours of work
Standard working hours (Site hours: 8am - 6pm, Office Hours 8.30am – 5pm) with the expectation of overtime during busy project phases. Overtime is typically required during project deadlines, urgent site requirements, or weekend work when necessary. Expected periods of overtime will generally start during key project installation and removal phases or when operational demands require additional support.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities
- Site Meetings and Client Liaison during installation and removal periods
- Site Surveys including recording access points, measurements, underground services, and ground levels
- Management of Subcontract Crew, ensuring compliance with RAMS and company policies
- Management of Installation and Removal phases, ensuring smooth execution
- Assisting with the organisation of required transport for each project
- Ensure that the correct hired plant is organised for each project and that it is off-hired when no longer needed
- Health & Safety oversight, ensuring compliance with PPE requirements, safety briefings, and risk assessments
- Assist Project Manager with preparation of Component Schedules
- Assist Project Manager with detailed planning of all on-site projects
- Deliver projects to budget, monitoring costs and ensuring efficient resource use
- Participate in Site and Yard practical work, including equipment handling, preparation of materials and components for upcoming projects, yard organisation, site setup and site installation as and when required
Personnel Management & Compliance
- Monitor and review site staff performance, ensuring compliance with designated working hours and professional conduct
- Ensure all staff adhere to company policies and procedures
- Maintain responsibility for contract delivery from start to finish, even if not attending site daily
- Provide out-of-hours and emergency cover as required
- Document and report instances where performance does not meet expected targets
Health, Safety, and Documentation
- Completion of company H&S reporting, ensuring all required documentation is recorded, including safety briefings, toolbox talk and handover certification
- Adherence to risk assessments, method statements, and site procedures
- Ensure all hired plant and equipment is checked daily for quality/damage and recorded on the companies dedicated H&S software packages
- The reporting of all accidents and near misses
Skills and experience
Essential:
- Experience in supervisory roles, preferably within an events industry
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proactive approach with high accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong IT skills
- Highly organised with excellent time management
- SMSTS and CSCS certification
Desirable:
- Relevant industry qualifications
- Experience managing large-scale site projects
- Forklift certification

Mobility Requirements
- Full, clean UK driving license
- Flexibility to travel frequently within the UK

Additional information
This role requires flexibility, including working overtime and weekends when necessary. Overtime typically starts when project deadlines demand additional site presence, urgent work arises, or weekend installations are scheduled.
The position involves travel across the UK and may require overnight stays. There is an expectation that the Site Manager will engage in practical yard duties and direct involvement in site activities to ensure smooth operations.
The Site Manager is also responsible for delivering projects within budget and ensuring efficient resource allocation.
